Modern Technology Products
We all know that technology has given us many gifts in our life, gifts that made our life more easy more convenient and made it more enjoyable. There was a time when it was a difficult task to communicate with a telephone, first of all, it was not easily available and second, of all it is not affordable by every single one. People used to write letters to communicate with each other and it took months to get a reply back and I guess there was no special arrangement for emergency cases. Then technology somehow improved and gave a gadget called mobile and afterward, as the technology increased, lesser call rates, wide reach and now have smartphones in our pockets which has now become the most important part of our lives. Our phone helps in many ways like booking a movie ticket, grocery shopping, organizing a trip, studies and all (cannot mention each and every benefit) we could say the impact of technology in modern life is unmeasurable.
Let us go through some of the advantages that technology has given us:-
• Easy access to information
• Improvement in lifestyle
• Convenience in education
• Convenience in traveling, and so on
We can say that we cannot imagine our lives without technology.
Technology has also helped us in changing our way to manufacture and to make the data travel through wires and cables. Modern technology has given us fiber optic and networking products, which helps a lot to make data transfer in a more convenient and faster ways. Like fiber optic cables, Cpri cables, patch cord, fiber optic connectors, fiber optic adapters, fiber optic attenuators etc. these products are greatly used in industries and gives an ease for data to travel from one end to the other.
Let us talk more about these products or should I say ‘gifts’ that technology has given us.
a) CPRI cables-it stands for Common Public Radio Interference, The purpose of CPRI is to allow replacement of a copper cable connection between a radio transceiver and a base station, for the connection to be made with a remote and more convenient location. These fiber optic cables available in 2 core and 4 core combinations can carry control or message signals with minimum loss.
b) Patchcord cables-Also known as Fiber Optic Cable Patch Cord. These patchcords are used to test environment in labs and in other areas where these is a need for a variety of cables with various sockets and adapters for quick connections. These patchcords have some features in it:-
Nickel-plated brass body.
Compact Design.
Available in single Mode & Multimode.
Precision Mechanical Dimensions.
Low insertion loss & Excellent back Reflection
PC, UPC, and APC are Available.
FC (fixed connectors) patch cords are one of the popular patch cords used in fiber optic network.
a) Fiber-optic-connectors-Introduced by Lucent Technologies for telecommunication applications. it terminates the end of an optical fiber, and enables quicker connection and disconnection than splicing, Better connectors lose very little light due to reflection or misalignment of the fibers.
Features are:-
- Compact, fool-proof design
- Interface similar to RJ 45 with UL-rated plastic housing and boot
- Minimal back reflection and insertion losses
- Precise alignment
- Behind the wall style short connectors.
You can just google ‘Fiber-optic-connectors manufacturer’ and it will be easy for you to choose the right manufacturer to buy.
b) A fiber optic adapter connects two fiber optic connectors in the fiber optic lines. It mostly used in industries like:-
-Telecommunication
-Broadband
-Network
-LAN&WAN
-FTTP
It also offers some features like
- Single mode and Multimode
- Zirconia sleeves or Phosphor bronze sleeves
- NTT standard compatible
- Available without flanges or with flange for duplex, saving panel space
- All parts compliant with ROHS.
And last but not the least, the main device which helps the data to travel through fiber-optic cables, to make sure it reaches the other end safely.
Fiber-Optic-Attenuator-Fibre Optic Attenuator is a device which is used to fiber optic communication, to reduce the optical fiber power by a certain level either in free space or in an optical fiber and they are measured in DBs. In a more elaborate way, it could be defined as an equipment used in applications where optic signals are too high and need to be reduced. for instance, the optical power is so strong that an end which is receiving that level of power might saturate somewhere, here the attenuator reduces that power level so that other end could receive the signal correctly. the attenuation level is fixed at 5 DB, which means it reduces the optical power by 5 DB. Which certainly means that the optical power will be in an ease of receiving end.Optical attenuators can take a number of different forms and are typically classified as fixed or variable attenuators. Moreover, they can be classified as LC, SC, ST, FC, MU, E2000 etc. according to the different types of connectors, Let's talk about the types of attenuators:-
1.Fixed Attenuators
2.Loopback attenuators
3.Built-in variable attenuators
4.Variable optical test attenuators.
We should be grateful to technology for making things easy for us. I hope you enjoyed this.
Thank you, have a good one
